Blue Kids is a story of love and revenge taken to extremes and founded on shortcomings. Feelings of remorse, even before living life, the fear of emotions and the inability to understand them, lead two siblings into a bubble in which everything is possible because there don’t seem to be any consequences. Like the games they played as kids. Their state of mind is the reflection of the settings and atmospheres of a place where winters are immersed in heavy fog and modernity is as irrepressible, violent and alienating as their actions.
Actions that are way out of proportion, the extent and meaning of which are lost in their closed-off solitude. The only foothold they have is the remote and faint memory of when they were kids; nestled in the stories their grandmother told them and the cartoons in a childhood they wish could have continued on forever. Their revenge is against those who took away their innocence and the carefree outlook on life they will never have again, not realizing that it’s no one’s fault if not life itself. So, they may as well keep playing.
